Accessibility statement
This statement applies to www.terrabase.co.uk operated by Terrabase Ltd.
Last updated: June 5th, 2026
Our commitment
We want as many people as possible to use this website—including visitors who use assistive technologies, keyboard navigation only, or screen magnification.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We continue to review and improve the site as we add content and features.
How accessible this website is
We consider the site partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. “Partially compliant” means some parts of the content do not fully meet the standard, as described below.
Following an internal accessibility review in May 2026, we improved keyboard focus visibility, mobile navigation state for screen readers, blog featured-image descriptions, cookie-notice semantics, and several interactive controls. A detailed audit record is kept in our project documentation for our team.
Features we have built in include:
- a skip to main content link at the top of each page;
- semantic page structure with headings, landmarks, and breadcrumb navigation where appropriate;
- visible keyboard focus styles on navigation, filters, buttons, and links;
- text alternatives for informative images, and decorative images marked accordingly;
- a dark mode option that respects your system preference or lets you choose manually;
- forms and controls designed to work without a mouse where the underlying platform allows;
- cookie preferences stored locally, with optional third-party content deferred until you consent.
Known limitations
The following areas may present barriers for some users. We are working to reduce them over time.
- Embedded YouTube videos on blog articles are not loaded until you accept optional cookies or choose “Load video”. Players are provided by a third party and may not meet every accessibility requirement.
- PDF and print views of some resources (for example the meeting prep checklist) may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
- Older blog articles imported from a previous website may contain legacy formatting or images without full alternative text.
- Custom tab controls on the homepage sector switcher do not yet support full arrow-key navigation between tabs (we plan to add this).
- We have not commissioned independent certification; our assessment is based on internal review against WCAG 2.2 AA.

- HTML

- CSS
- JavaScript (for navigation, theme choice, cookie preferences, and optional embeds)

This statement was prepared using:
- a structured internal review against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria (May 2026), covering the home page, blog, case studies, meeting prep, history, and legal pages;
