  1. Founded at the millennium turning point

Customers needed DOS-based systems rewritten as millennium-proof Windows applications—quickly and correctly. Terrabase's first major delivery was a complete payroll system for The John Gregory Organisation, a London labour-hire company placing skilled trades across a thriving construction market. Hundreds of workers, HMRC-critical calculations, and no room for error. We are still in touch with the owners today—and count them among our friends.

  2. Early 2000s

    London clients across industries

From that foundation we supported companies around London—including City firms on the Golden Mile—and a wide mix of sectors. The work was hands-on, practical, and rooted in understanding how each business actually operated day to day.

  3. Long-standing partnership

    Incorporated—and a move to Chester

Terrabase became a limited company. Anthony Harris, the founder, relocated to Chester; new clients joined the journey while established relationships continued. Imperial College London became a major client—a partnership that continues to this day.

  4. 2000–2010 Long-standing partnership

    Cheshire councils and the classroom

We carried out data analysis for Cheshire County Council and developed an early interactive classroom product. When the authority reorganised into Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire East Council, we kept working with both—departmental systems remain in place today. Our reporting and adult-education work in the west of the county later grew into ALDAS and related programmes.

  5. Long-standing partnership

    Islington Adult & Community Learning

For Islington Borough Council we delivered learner registration, attendance monitoring, and deep integration with the Moodle virtual learning environment. Terrabase still hosts, supports, and develops that platform—borough educators focus on teaching while we keep the VLE dependable.

  6. Today

Every scale—from one-person teams to global names

We work with many boroughs, councils, and organisations beyond those named here. We are equally comfortable below departmental procurement thresholds—turning unwieldy spreadsheets into calm, web-based databases—and alongside large, globally prestigious institutions. Education remains a particular strength; Anthony Harris still visits schools regularly to strengthen links with the sector and support computer science learning wherever he can.

  7. Long-standing partnership

    More software, better value—same commitment

Modern AI tooling helps us deliver more for our clients without compromising care or quality. Across hundreds of engagements over 27 years, we have built a reputation for integrity, perseverance, and professional judgement—and for staying until everyone is satisfied. Ask us to look at your needs and you invite a partner who will journey with you, not simply hand over a build.

Still true today

What has not changed

  • Relationships first

We measure success by trust built over years—not by tickets closed in isolation.

  • Mission-critical calm

Payroll, registers, and commissioner reporting must work when it matters. We design for that reality.

  • Seen through together

Discovery, delivery, and support are one continuous conversation—with clear language throughout.
